Installation & Handover

Proper installation ensures the longevity, safety, and performance of our bathroom pods. Our detailed guidelines cover everything from delivery conditions and lifting instructions to installation best practices and quality control. By following these instructions, you ensure a smooth installation process that meets BSI standards and UK building regulations.

⚠️ Review the full guidelines here below to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Method

  • Vertical Drop-In

The pod is craned directly from the lorry and lowered straight into position. This method requires open access down to each deck, allowing for efficient, direct placement without additional equipment.

  • Horizontal Slide-In (via Cradle)

For decks with an open port, the pod is craned or forklifted onto moving skates inside a steel cradle. The cradle is craned into position, and the pod is pulled inside using an electric pallet truck before being lowered with a toe jack.

  • Horizontal Slide-In (via Loading Platform)

This method requires an open port with a loading platform. The pod is craned onto skates on the platform, then pulled inside using an electric pallet truck. Once positioned, it is lowered into place with a toe jack.

  • Horizontal Slide-In (with Forklift Truck)

A forklift lifts the pod from the lorry and places it on moving skates inside the deck’s open port. The pod is then maneuvered into position with an electric pallet truck and lowered into place using a toe jack.

Line and Level

  • Line and Level by Contractor

All installation methods require the contractor to pre-line and level neoprene pads and shims at each designated pod location. Proper levelling ensures alignment with the building structure and prevents structural stress.

  • Neoprene Pad & Shims

Neoprene pads and shims are essential for levelling bathroom pods. They provide support, stability, and height adjustment, ensuring the pod is correctly aligned with the building’s structure.

  • Marked Area for Levelling

Neoprene pads and shims are stacked under each of the four corners of the bathroom pod. This setup ensures proper levelling and alignment with the building’s finished floor level.

  • Levelling Kit (Laser & Measuring Rod)

A laser level and measuring rod determine the precise height of neoprene pads and shims. This ensures accurate levelling of the bathroom pod to match the building’s required floor height.

Equipment

  • Adjustable 4-Point Lifting Beam

An adjustable 4-point lifting beam must be used during craning to prevent damage from inward pressure applied by wire slings or lifting straps. It ensures even weight distribution and safe, stable lifting of the bathroom pod.

  • Electric Pallet Truck

An electric pallet truck is used to maneuver the pod into position on the building deck. It provides controlled movement and minimizes strain on installation crews.

  • Moving Skates

Heavy-duty moving skates support the bathroom pod during horizontal positioning. They allow for smooth maneuvering on the building deck, reducing friction and effort required.

  • Adjusting Bars

Adjusting bars provide leverage for precise positioning of the bathroom pod. They help make the final adjustments before securing the pod in place, ensuring perfect alignment with surrounding structures.
